We invite your suggestions for additional resources to facilitate inclusion of people with low vision or blindness within faith communities. ADNet is seeking someone with vision limitations to audit our website and offer suggestions for making our website more accessible to people with low vision and those who are blind. Contact ADNet. That potential can be compromised, however, if congregations overlook the problems technology can present for people who see or hear less well than average. Optasia Ministry offers Bible study tools and other Christian ministry resources in digital format to people with vision impairments. Tips for including people with low vision: "Using Computers for Inclusive Worship," by John Jay Frank. Resources for people who are blind from Congregational Accessibility Network RoboBraille is an e-mail service which can convert digital text documents easily into audio files. No cost for noncommercial use. It also can generate Braille files. Note that Braille files require a Braille printer-embosser to create embossed, readable Braille. |
