Awareness

Awareness is the first step toward including persons who are perceived as “different.”  Three intertwining factors help build awareness in any of us:

  • Alertness – Becoming attuned to and delighting in the many differences in people.
  • Learning – Gaining some understanding of the variety of factors which lead to persons being perceived as “different.”
  • Spending time – Actually devoting time to being with persons who are different, getting into their world as much as possible.
  Stories of Awareness
