The Out-of-Sync Child
This site is an introduction to the book The Out-of-Sync Child: Recognizing and Coping with Sensory Integration Dysfunction by Carol Stock Kranowitz.  Kranowitz gives workshops  around the country helping parents and educators understand sensory integration issues in youngh children.

The Elizabeth M. Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities
The Boggs Center is part of a national network of University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service sponsored by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Of particular interest are the Resources and Links.

National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities
NICHCY is the national information center that provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues with a special focus on children and youth (birth to age 22). Information is included about such topics as specific disabilities, early intervention services, special education, organizations that serve families, and transition to adult life.

Riverbend Down Syndrome Parent Support Group
An excellent resource site on the most common genetic cause of mental retardation.

NAMI Child & Adolescent Action Center
An information and advocacy center for information and assistance on how to obtain critically needed care for children with serious mental illness. Resources include a free quarterly magazine, NAMI Beginnings, available in either a print version or by downloading from their website.

AutismInfo.com
A site run by parents of a child with autism that is teeming with links on all aspects of autism. Updated daily, its goal is "to provide parents, particularly those with newly diagnosed kids, a good source of information" with the belief "that there are many treatments and therapies available and all have helped some kids."

Exceptional Parent Magazine
Online version of highly regarded magazine for parents who have children with all types of disabilities.

Child & Adolescent Bipolar Foundation
This website describes itself as "a lifeline of support and education for families raising children with bipolar disorder." Includes an excellent new booklet for and about children with mood disorders that can be downloaded free.
