Membership in ADNet

Membership in ADNet is open to any person, family, church, or other organization who shares our vision and mission.

There are two simple criteria for membership in ADNet:

  • A desire to join the network. This can be indicated by filling out the form below.
  • A financial contribution. We suggest at least $10 from individuals and families and $50 from churches and other organizations. We encourage those who can to give more.

Why become a member of ADNet?

See About ADNet for an overview of the reasons for the existence of ADNet.  Then, consider these benefits to you as an individual, family, or congregation.

  • An Anabaptist perspective.  ADNet offers resources from the perspective of an Anabaptist/Mennonite faith heritage.  It helps link you to resources for thinking, acting, and caring that ring true to our understanding of Christian faith.
  • A collective voice in the church.  ADNet allows you to become part of a collective voice for persons with disabilities and mental illnesses, particularly within Mennonite and related churches.  Advocacy and education are vital.  When we always have to advocate for ourselves and our loved ones in addition to caring for them, it becomes another burden to bear.  However, by joining together, we can provide a greater awareness and more educational tools to others in our congregations.
  • Providing resources.  Membership in ADNet contributes toward the costs of providing resources like our Connections newsletter and ADNotes resource sheets to everyone who wants them.
  • A voice in the structure.   As a member of ADNet, you have a voice in the organizational structure of ADNet.  Among the privileges is being able to nominate persons to the Board of Directors.
  • An expression of commitment.  Most of all, membership in ADNet expresses your commitment to live out the calling of Jesus:   “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.  He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”   As we join together in this network, we proclaim together that we, too, are called to both receive and extend the good news that all are invited, all are welcomed, all are precious in God’s Kingdom.
