Welcome to ADNet Online!
The mission of Anabaptist Disabilities Network (ADNet) is to provide encouragement and resources to congregations, families, and persons with disabilities as they identify and embrace their God-given gifts and abilities in ministry to each other and to the larger church. ADNet was formed out of a vision of family members, friends, and persons with disabilities, including mental illness, to establish a permanent national resource and support network for Mennonites and related groups. See About ADNet for more information. ADNet Online is the Internet presence of ADNet, the place to come on the web for finding resources and building community networks. We welcome anyone to browse these pages.
Interested in the history of disabilities advocacy among Mennonites? ADNet Director Paul Leichty has written a paper entitled "Mennonite Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities," originally published in the Journal of Religion, Disability, and Health and a book entitled Disability Advocacy Among Religious Organizations: Histories and Reflections, edited by Albert A. Herzog. |
