We CAN!
The We CAN! campaign provides encouragement for congregations to support and use the tools of the Congregational Accessibility Network (CAN). Visit the CAN website and get started! Phase I of the We CAN! campaign is a holiday fundraising campaign described below. Use one of the handy buttons on the left to share your donation today! We CAN! Supporters 2010 Preview ADNet is in the midst of exciting developments in 2010, building on the progress we made this year. But we need your help! First, the Congregational Accessibility Network (CAN) is ready for your congregation. In 2010, we are launching the “We CAN!” campaign to reach more congregations and encourage them to become accessible to and inclusive of persons with all types of disabilities! Encourage your congregation to initiate the CAN Study Process. Contact us for more details! Second, during the past year, ADNet has been reviewing two classic booklets developed by our predecessor advocacy ministries. We are taking steps to revise and re-publish What happens after we're gone? and Supportive Care in the congregation in multiple formats to reach a wider audience. These projects have the potential to reach hundreds and even thousands of churches. Here are some ideas on how you can help us get out the word.
Encourage your congregation to support ADNet. We will be happy to make a presentation in person or by phone or equip you to tell why congregations should support ADNet. If we could get 100 congregations to each give $100 each year, that would be $10,000 to support our efforts. Help us by “going green.” We already publish online our quarterly resource sheet called ADNotes. This publication, Connections, is sent out through the mail along with a return envelope to receive your donations. Although Connections also appears online, we have not publicized that fact widely. Our experience has shown that the majority of personal and family contributions to ADNet come back in those envelopes. However, if we could get 100 households to both agree to receive Connections only via email and donate online at least $50 more per year, we would save money and at the same time raise an additional $5,000 plus. The “We CAN!” campaign starts with those of us who want to see this ministry continue and spread to each and every Mennonite congregation and even beyond! Thank you so much for your year-end gifts! |
Congregational Accessibility Network (CAN) has its own website! Included are the Congregational Assessment Survey and the new Individual and Family Needs Questionnaire.
