Health Care Reform: Your Stories
Health care reform is the latest hot topic in the national news. No one who tunes in can escape the debate that surfaces in every form of the media. Everyone has an opinion because health care affects everyone. It strikes a deep chord because it involves matters of life and death. People living with disabilities have perhaps an even greater than average stake in this public debate. One commenter on the blog Justice for All defends the expertise of many of us when she remarks,  "I've been a patient in the medical industry my ENTIRE life!"

What perspectives do those who live with disability or love people with disabilities bring to the reform debate? What do we hope for and despair about from our position on the inside track of receiving health care?

We are not interested in debating partisan positions but rather understanding the stories that inform your position.  Obviously, those stories are very personal and may indeed be sensitive.  We invite you to share the broad outlines of your story as you feel comfortable.  We will prime the pump with a couple of our own stories as ADNet staff.

ADNet is a part of an Anabaptist Health Care Policy Working Group which works with other Christian groups to represent a Mennonite perspective on the health care reform debate.  Your stories may be used anonymously to illustrate what we are hearing from the community of folks who live with disabilities.
